While some of the points listed below may seem obvious, the exam day is very stressful. Knowing what to expect and how to manage yourself may reduce the level of stress and anxiety. Below are some suggestions for how to make the exam day as straightforward and stress-free as possible.
On the day of the exam:
- Wake up on time, do some light exercise to get warmed up, and eat a good breakfast. Avoid any unfamiliar food.
- If I am taking a proctored online test, I will create the environment that will be comfortable for me and, at the same time, compliant with the Pearson VUE requirements. The requirements can be found here:
- Dress appropriately for the exam and, if the exam is in a testing center, bring warm clothes to ensure you feel comfortable if the room is too cold.
- Before leaving home, check that you packed everything you need to bring.
- Before going into the testing center, I will use some relaxation techniques
- I will listen carefully and attentively to the instructions given to me by the testing center staff or the online proctor. I will ask questions if something seems unclear.
- I will take the tutorial before the exam begins and will patiently complete it.
- I will answer the first set of 60 questions as swiftly as I can in the irst go, while taking enough time to read through them thoroughly and carefully.
- If I get nervous during the exam, I will use some relaxation techniques. (for instacne, you can close your eays and take some deep breaths, than re-focus ... )
- I know that I have problems with some types of questions. I will, therefore, mark them for review and return to them later.
- I will double check that I have answered all questions. I will answer even those questions where I am not absolutely certain and have to guess.
- I will only mark those questions for review where I cannot decide on the best answer, but I will make sure I still have a go at answering them.
- I understand that it is better to guess an answer than to leave a question unanswered, because with the multiple-choice questions (which are currently comprising the majority of the exam), guessing gives me at least a 25% chance of being correct.
- I will consider using the strike-through option to eliminate those answers in a question that I deem as incorrect.
- I will use all available time to verify the questions that I had marked for review.
- During the exam, I will not worry about my score. I will concentrate on finding the best answer to each question without worrying. If you follow all the instructions and tips, you should soon be able to add the three famous letters to your name!
